January 14, 2018

Here are your 3 tips that you can use in your classroom today for the week of January 14, 2019.

1 - Google Classroom Update

As with all GSuite products, Google really does listen to your requests.  This time they have made an update that I believe is AMAZING!!!  Check it out (video is less than 5 mins.).

2 - Flippgrid Fever isn't going away

Flipgrid’s features include a cool new camera and player, Grid Pals, Vibes and more. (Oh, and it’s FREE now!) How can you use these in the classroom? Here are some suggestions from Matt Miller and Ditch that Textbook blog.

For many students, video is just part of the way they speak.

Snapchat. Instagram. YouTube. For many of them, they think in terms of sharing socially.

Video has never been more accessible and available to use in classroom settings. Flipgrid is a platform where students can respond to prompts with short video responses.

And Flipgrid keeps getting better and better. Just recently, it announced a slew of new features.

3 - Googley Activities for Primary Students
Over the years Eric Curts has come across and/or created a wide range of fun and creative ways to use Google tools with primary aged students, typically considered to be pre-K through grade 2 or so. In this blog post He will share descriptions of and links to these activities. As he make new ones over time, He will try to come back and add them to this post so this stays up to date with all his resources.
