2 -Team Drive Updates
Have you used Google's Team Drive? If you have not, this is an amazing place to collaborate with your grade level teams, department members, or with other teacher's in the district.
A quick Q and A:
What is Team Drive?
Team Drive is a shared space where teams can easily store, search, and access their files anywhere, from any device.
Who do the files belong to?
Unlike the files in your Google Drive, the files in Team Drive belong to the team. The selling point of Team Drives is even if members leave, the files will stay exactly where they are so your team can continue to share information!
Updates Coming
In October 2018, a new membership role will appear in Team Drives. The "Content Manager" can be assigned to users as a manager role. Content Managers will be able to edit, reorganize, and delete Team Drive content, but they will not be able to modify the Team Drive membership or settings.
This is a game changer for the team member who loves to organize and clean up the work space!
3 - Use Quick-Access Side Panel
Google added a quick-access side panel to the Docs editors and Google Calendar to help you quickly access other G Suite products without leaving what you’re working on. A similar side panel has been a popular feature of the new Gmail, and we hope that this integration will help you work more efficiently within and across G Suite.
You’ll be able to access three G Suite products from Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Drawings:
- Google Calendar: Quickly reference, create or edit invites.
- Google Keep: Easily take notes, create lists, and see your other content.
- Google Tasks: Manage your tasks and to-dos.
You’ll also see the side panel in Google Calendar, where you’ll be able to use Keep and Tasks.
Google Keep is Google’s Virtual Post-It Notes! This collaborative gem allows you to communicate with colleagues, students, and even your family! Google has even incorporated Keep into the GSuite products such as Docs, Slides and Sheets! Feedback and collaboration has never looked so good! So “Post” away people!
