December 3, 2018

Here are your 3 tips that you can use in your classroom today for the week of December 3, 2018.

1 - What are HyperDocs & How to Start

HyperDocs have taken the education world by storm. But what are they? And how do we start using them in our classrooms? Here are tons of ideas for getting started with HyperDocs!
HyperDocs are are NOT just a doc with links. They are purposefully designed digital lessons and can transform your class.

The creators of HyperDocs — Lisa Highfill, Kelly Hilton and Sarah Landis — describe them as a transformative, interactive Google Doc replacing the worksheet method of delivering instruction, the ultimate change agent in the blended learning classroom. hyperdocs.co/about_hyperdocs

2 - Use Custom My Maps In Any Subject

Google My Maps is free and AMAZING.  Students or Teachers can create custom maps with color overlays, custom place markers, embedded images and videos, and so much more!  This tool by Google lends itself to so many projects in any subject and at most any grade level I can't believe it isn't more widely talked about.  Check out some example maps from other educators -

3 - Angry Padlet Costs? Use this Slides Template instead

Padlet was AWESOME and useful and unfortunately WAS free.  Now to use more than 3 you have to pay - and it's not 'that cheap'.  Never fear - Ryan O'Donnell has created a Padlet environment within Google Slides.  All the functionality with Zero Cost!!  Plus he's even giving away the template!  Get it here - http://creativeedtech.weebly.com/blog/goodbye-padlet

Class Screen - Where has this been?

An awesome screen for every classroom!  All of your favorite tools in one place: timer, stop light, interactive whiteboard, text options, random group generator and lots more! You can even use duo mode and multiple students can work together!

Check out all the possibilities in this video.
