Here are your 3 tips that you can use in your classroom today for the week of December 10, 2018.

1 - It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

Your students can click this link to get their own copy, or you can use Google Classroom to push out a copy of the template to each of your students.

2 - Spend Some Time Coding @ Santa's Village

Your students are eager for Santa's arrival. So harness that excitement and get them to learn about Christmas.  With 25 different activities from learning about Christmas traditions, to translating holiday phrases (languages), to Coding, to physics games... there's something to learn about for a while in Santa's Village.  Check it out and have some Christmas fun!!  Plus - December 25th the Santa Tracker Activates!!!!!

3 - Try Inviting Guests to your FlipGrid

Guest Mode allows you to introduce a community of inspiration to your students by inviting guests into your Flipgrid Topics.

 Guests are granted access through a unique Guest Code. You decide whether guests have view-only or view & respond access. You can share the Guest Code with whoever you’d like and you can revoke access at any time by simply regenerating the Guest Code. 

If you don’t want to send out a code, have no fear, QR codes are here! Simply print and post for your guests to scan. When guests click to record in the Topic, they’ll be prompted to enter their First and Last Name (and, if you want, their email address) prior to recording. Then they’ll be launched into the same recorder your students know and love! 

Have Students create e-Portfolios or Notebooks with New Google Sites

New Google Sites is an amazingly simple tool to allow Teachers AND Students to create in class.  Projects, Portfolios, Lab Reports, anything can be turned into a Web Site and with the ease of New Google Sites it's too easy and powerful to keep ignoring.  This tutorial will walk you through the basics of creating a Google Site and at the end I show you an example of a student e-Portfolio (link below to the same sample).  With the click-and-drag interface and complete integration into Google Drive, this would be a staple in my classroom instructional plans!
