Here are your 3 tips that you can use in your classroom today for the week of October 29, 2018.

1 - Screen Record with PowerPoint
There are some of you who think I'm Google Exclusive... WRONG!!  I love any tool that helps teachers and students no matter who created it or what platform it's on.  So, here's some Microsoft Love -

You can record your computer screen and related audio, and then embed it in your PowerPoint slide—or you can save it as a separate file.  To record and listen to audio associated with your screen recording, you'll need a sound card, microphone, and speakers.

2 - Flip Your Lesson - Free Tools
You may have heard of Flipping Lessons - but what is it and how do you do it without making more work for yourself??

Flipped learning is a pedagogical approach in which direct instruction moves from the group learning space to the individual learning space – that is to say, the traditional lecture is sent home and the homework is done in the classroom. With free tools like Google ClassroomScreencastify, and many others – flipping your classroom is pretty easy. Flipping actually makes a lot of sense by doing the ‘homework’ with the teacher so that during practice and application the ‘expert’ is there with the learner. This also transforms the classroom space into a dynamic, interactive learning environment where students are more engaged, creative, collaborative, and feel more supported.
In this video I share with you about many of the reasons your should try flipping your lesson but also some of the reasons you shouldn’t flip.  (link to tutorial video)

3 - Add Your ACSD3 Email to your Phone

The easiest way to be able to check your A3 email on your phone is to simply download the Gmail App from the Play Store or the App Store (if you have a Blackberry - sorry - you're on you own).  Simply follow the on screen instructions.  If you already use Gmail for your personal email on your phone then simply add another account.  On Android or iOS just go into settings and:
Android tap Accounts ➡️ add Account ➡️ Google and provide your A3 Credentials
iOS  tap Passwords and Accounts ➡️ Add Account ➡️ Google and provide your A3 Credentials

Google has just introduced a little time-saving trick for those who use G Suite apps. You can now instantly create things like a Google Doc or Sheet by using a keyword plus domain .new right in your browser address bar.

Before, you had to navigate to the app you want to use and click on “new” to begin a fresh project. This new method lets you skip a couple steps, and works with any sort of document that is under the G Suite umbrella.

Docs can be created with domains doc.new, docs.new or document.new; Sheets with sheet.new, sheets.new, or spreadsheet.new; Slides with slide.new, slides.new, deck.new, or presentation.new; Forms with form.new or forms.new; and Sites with site.new, sites.new, or website.new.

These shortcuts work across any browser and are live now.
